How Do Meetings Proceed?
The Pepper Ridge PTA meetings are run as per standard PTA procedures based loosely on Roberts Rules of Order. During the course of a meeting a motion must be made before it can be voted upon. If you wish to make a motion, fill out the Official Motion Form and bring it to any PTA meeting. If you cannot attend a meeting and wish to present a motion to the PTA, please submit the Official Motion Form to a PTA board member to present at the next meeting for you.
Budgets
The Pepper Ridge PTA board develops a new budget for each school year based on needs and ideas from the teachers, staff and parents of Pepper Ridge School. All fundraising events fund the items on this budget. To receive a copy of this year’s budget, please contact the PTA treasurer.
PTA 2010/11 Year Goals
Knowing how hard all our schools were hit by budget cuts this year, it is more critical than ever that the PTA have a well outlined focus. This year we went to the teachers, we asked for their direct input on where they felt the students and staff needed the most support. We are still developing the budget and the goals for this school year, so PLEASE participate and let your voice be heard. The first general PTA meeting of the school year, and budget voting, will be held on Wednesday, September 22nd at 4pm. Put it on your calendar and make it a priority to attend.
Meeting Agenda
Prior to each monthly PTA meeting, the President creates an agenda containing items that will be discussed at the meeting. If you would like to have an item added to the agenda, please email your information to the board president before the third Tuesday of each month. Items are added on a priority basis. If time does not allow for your item to be addressed at that month’s meeting it will be placed first on the agenda for the following month’s meeting. The agenda for the monthly meeting will be posted on the PTA bulletin board in the school prior to each monthly meeting and they will also be available here, on the website.
